Comcastic! It's BOMBASTIC!

It's Bombastic!

Well I just switched to the Triple Play and was welcomed to Comcast with a loss of phone service and internet for a full day. The first guy walked off the job 'cause he couldn't figure it out and said his supervisor would show up in "about half an hour" which of course translated to "more than an hour later." It took them from 10:30am until 6pm to switch me over from Cavtel.

Cavtel of course not to be left out of the fun had to play their part in this drama and cut my phone lines first thing in the morning instead of waiting for the go-ahead call from Comcast.

By the end of the day I then got "and by the way, we don't support D-Link or other wireless routers other than our own (or Eudora)". So once internet was finally hooked up, they said, oh we just provide access to the internet and if you can't get on, then too bad. It took a friend clear across the country an hour on the phone with me to get all my wireless router settings to finally click and get me on that Superhighway.

Then last night in bed I went to check my new movie channels (TMC! Starz! MAX!) and found it wasn't hooked up to my pre-existing box.

A stupendous forewarning of things to come with new Comcast service?

Clearly their new tag line should be:
"It's Comcastic!---It's Bombastic!"

Kat, I am sorry that you are unhappy with me. I emailed you at your gmail account on the 12th AND 15th of Jan, informing you that you won and asking for your postal mailing address. I also posted a blog listing here asking winners to contact me with their mailing address.

It wouldn't "blow chunks" if you paid a bit more attention instead of making a rude comment when I am providing free prizes. How can I mail you a coupon without your address?

Oh dear. We just had a very similar thing happen when we switched to Vonage. AT&T cut not only our phone lines off, but our internet as well. Then they said it would take a week to get out to remedy the situation. We switched from DSL to cable and got it done in less than 24 hours.
